Just before her final exams, 19-year-old Defne has to return to her hometown after her father suffers a stroke. His rehabilitation sessions will give the pair a chance to heal their fragile relationship. Slowly drawn into a family drama in this Mediterranean town, she witnesses her aunt’s suicide by unprescribed pills she has provided. Buried under her guilty conscience, she slowly finds herself losing her innocence and questioning her own notion of justice.


After his graduation from Boğaziçi University in 2007, Cagil Bocutoglu completed his MA studies on Film Production at London Kingston University. While his short film “Arada” was selected for Nauossa and various short film festivals. His experimental work, “Yakın Geçmiş”, made it to numerous new media festivals such as Magmart (Italy), Videoart (Greece) and AllArtNow. Then he established the Digital Film & Animation department at SAE Institute Istanbul, part of the world’s leading educator in creative media industries, where he would continue his career as Head Instructor between 2010-2013, and give lectures on History of Turkish Cinema & World Cinema, Composition, Visual Narrative, Screenwriting, Production, Copyrights, and History of Animation. He has been working as a commercial director 2016-2020 and recently finished his PhD on Cinema & Television at Marmara University.
