1963,last days of May… The film tells the story of four former soldiers and their
extraordinaryone-night journey. Lieutenant Şinasi, Commander Kemal, Commander Rıfat and Colonel Reha plan to announce a manifesto of the military coup on Istanbul Radio which will commence in Ankara on the same night. They are certain that a strong and an efficient manifesto leads to a successful coup and public support. However, nothing goes as they planned.
These four soldiers who believe in that everything can be managed by planning anda military force also believethat they can decide on behalf of others. However, what lets them down is the invisible power of civilian life.
He began filmmaking with directing documentaries in year 2000. He made his first fiction film Wrong Rosary (Uzakİhtimal) in 2009 with which he won several national and international awards including Rotterdam Film Festival’s “Tiger Award” and İstanbul Film Festival’s Best Director award. His second film Yozgat Blues was finished in 2013 and premiered at 61.San Sebastian Film Festival. The Announcement (Anons) is his third film.
